The Apostle Paul exhorts us, "Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle" (2 Thessalonians 2:15). The very God who speaks to us through His written Word, the Bible, spoke also through the Apostles of Christ as they taught and preached in person. The Scriptures themselves teach in this passage that this oral tradition is what we are also to keep! Written and oral tradition are not in conflict, but are parts of one whole. We are not to reject Holy Tradition. It is resolved that the Church or the New Testament is part and parcel of the Incarnate Word of God. Jesus Christ, had called the Apostles, who in turn formed the nucleus of the Christian Church. The Eternal Word of God had preceded the Church and gave birth to the Church. Ephesians says, "God has chosen us in Him before the foundation that we should live holy in Him." When the Church has the Incarnate Word of God and commits God's Word to writing, the Church then participated with God in giving birth to the written Word, the New Testament. |

Pray for the Victims of the Asia Earth Quake (Tsunamis)
COLOMBO, Sri Lanka -- The death toll from massive tidal waves that struck Sri Lanka's coastline leapt to more than 12,000 on Monday as thousands of soldiers and families kept up the search for bodies.
Military spokesman, Brig. Daya Ratnayake said Monday that 10,029 bodies had been recovered from areas of the island nation under government control, raising the official tally by more than 5,000 from the previous day.
An additional 2,000 bodies have been recovered in Tamil rebel-controlled territory, bringing Sri Lanka's overall toll to 12,029.
"The toll is increasing," Ratnayake said. "We are finding more bodies."
The 9.0 quake, the world's most powerful in 40 years, struck deep beneath the Indian Ocean, off the Indonesian island of Sumatra. That triggered tsunamis that sent 20-foot walls of water thousands of miles. Those crashed onto beaches in eight Asian countries, which also included Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar and Bangladesh, and in the African nation of Somalia more than 3,000 miles away.
"Are we in the Last Days?"

Hundreds of people died and entire villages and towns disappeared when tidal waves hit Somalia's coastline along its central and northeastern regions, a Somali presidential spokesman said.
The waves, which hit on Sunday, were triggered by the 9.0-magnitude undersea quake centered off the Indonesian island of Sumatra, 4,500 kilometers (2,800 miles) away.
The "human loss is in the hundreds in the central and northeastern coastal area. ... Entire villages and coastal town have been swept away by the tidal waves and there is severe damage to property," said Yusuf Ismail, spokesman of Somalia's President Abduallhi Yusuf Ahmed.

More words and prayer.......
"I had been moved upon by God several days of a coming calamity upon our earth. Off times, these warning keeps me up in prayer for hours. "I remember as if it was yesterday, the late night and early morning God gave me of a coming calamity of 911." I prayed all night the prayer of "God giving us directions and leading us, His children to always be in the right place at the right time. |
May this New Year find us on our Knees before God more and may the 'peace of God' rule our spirits throughout this year, 2008

right place at the right time," I have been praying this prayer every day since that warning.
I have written in the book "Prophetic View of Our Times;" that as believers today, we must realize, "these are the last days" and the Lord is trying to get our attention to return to faith and reliance upon Him for the outcome of this present world. "We are in very dangerous and serious times." | |
